Tremors & Beech Band

Posted by emmit @emmit, Mar 20 10:18am

Look into the product called Beech Band. Google and do your own research. I have had mine for a couple of weeks now. I might not be the best subject as I have early PD with sporadic symptoms, but it is helping me with tremors. I figured why not share b/c after all this is a support group. I look here for answers, suggestions and support. So best of luck and I look forward to hearing more about this product from others in this group. I can say more in later posts about my experiences if anyone is interested

What symptoms did the BB control most effectively?
I am looking for something that might help with fatigue and stiffness.

I down loaded the Beech Band app and use it with my Smart Watch. I've been using it about a week. I've had Parkinson's for about 10 years and I was starting to have more severe freezing issues. In the past week since I've been using the app, the freezing has decreased and it has been less severe when it happens. I'm experimenting with how long I use the app and what part of the day I use it and will start documenting the process and results because I'd like to be more scientific in evaluating the app.
I'm also in the process of being evaluated for DBS and want to be able to evaluate the options that I have with as much information as I can get before moving forward with DBS considering the research on DBS and its effect on freezing.

@lschurman thanks for sharing. I'm interested to know how well the app works. I have just the beech band and I'm amazed at how well it helps with my tremors.
for some reason one of the places my tremors happen the most is Church.
During my initial meeting with the Occupational therapist, asked me, "do your tremors happen a lot at church". I was so surprised she asked I said yes, they do why do you ask that, and she simply stated that many of the PD patients she sees mentioned that the tremors happen at church. I found it interesting maybe I'm more at rest there not sure. I click the beech band at church or home and my tremors stop. Does anyone else experience the tremors at church ? Just curious
