@maggie76 THC is the ingredient in marijuana that gets you high! It works great as a topical rub. I never ingested it.

2 Reactions@cutshaw01 1 to 1 does work well. I live in a state where it’s legal. You can buy it on the internet but I’m not sure you can if you don’t live in the right state.
@heyjoe415 have you ever investigated if you might have gout? Did anyone in your family ever have it? It is an inflammatory reaction in your joints. If you have arthritis, there is a chance its been overlooked especially if you get an inflammatory reaction and it's not RA. It's probably gout. Its not that "big toe pain" that is just a flare. Also, if sugar gives you an inflammatory reaction, it could be that you have insulin resistance. Gout is easily detected by a uric acid blood or urine test and insulin resistance is easily detected by your A1C score. BOTH can be borderline and remain undetected/diagnosed.

1 Reaction@loriesco I have gout. Terrible when it’s not under control! Allopurinol is a lifesaver!

2 Reactions@cutshaw01 make sure you are on a low purine diet and know what triggers your gout. I've had it for 25 years. I drink LOTS of fluids and have to avoid inflammatory triggers. I haven't had a horrible gout flare in many years. But, sometimes I don't eat perfectly (like farmed fish is really a trigger for me!) and I have to flush water with some lemon. Yes, also the weather is a trigger and I take an extra allopurinol and all is good!

2 ReactionsI haven’t had a flare in 5 years. Just lucky I guess. I eat red meat and drink beer.. they ised to really be my triggers!
Interesting Lorie and thanks.
I have cut back on refined sugar in the last 3 years, and I fast 16 hours/day. This has helped control inflammation from arthritis, primarily in my hands. It's not RA, thankfully. I'll have to check out whether it could be gout.
Since my early 40s, I have been plagued in my major joints by osteoarthritis. I somehow managed to run 25 marathons from age 28 through 45, at least a few under 3 hours. My last marathon was in January 1999, just as the arthritis was making things very, very hard.
I never thought I had a problem with arthritic knees or arthritis period, until I did....... And in just the last 4 years, I've had both knees replaced, right hip, and left shoulder. (Although I do feel fabulous now. Running is over but I spin about 5x/week and do resistance/core training on the other days. At 71, I feel pretty good!)
Thanks for the advice Lorie! Much appreciated.

1 ReactionThanks Charley,
I smoked weed as a teen in the 60s and it was much milder, probably because we smoked leaves, not buds, and it smelled great. I've tried the weed available today, and the THC is far too strong, and the smell is terrible (I used to love the smell of burning weed.....). All I get from today's weed is extreme dry mouth and paranoia. I wish I could find the kind of weed we smoked in the 60s. Any ideas?
CBD is different of course. I will look into it for inflammation, and thanks!
