Time to choose a penis pump. Any recommendations?

I cannot decide between manual or automatic. I was referred to TIMMMEDICAL to purchase. Any suggestions on these options and also brands?

I had a radical prostatectomy in 2009. (No measurable PSA since then.) One of the results was ED. In 2011 I had a penile prosthetic implanted. It took a little time to get used to it, but it wound up being at least satisfactory, if not a little better than that, both for me and for my wife. The expected life of the implant was 10 years, and mine lasted almost exactly that long. So in 2021 I had the dead soldier removed, and had another virtually identical prosthetic installed. The results were almost identical, except that the new one is somewhat more difficult to deflate. It does reduce spontaneity somewhat (it takes a little more than 5 minutes to inflate), but it performs the way it’s supposed to. I’m 81, so I’m guessing that it’s working better than if I had never had prostate cancer at all. It certainly never says “not today, dear, I have a headache.”

I had the Boston Scientific AMS 700 Inflatable Penile Prosthesis implanted 8 months ago. My wife and I are both very happy with the outcome. I don’t understand your saying that it takes 5 minutes to inflate. Mine takes about 15 seconds.

My experience has been that after my prostatectomy, pills worked OK, a penis pump was not very good and Trimix gave me temporary curvature of the penis that didn’t allow penetration and my erection lasted for 3 hours no matter what the dose. Five years later after recurrence of the cancer and subsequent radiation, I was put on Lupron and Abiraterone. The pills then gave me only a partial erection incapable of penetration. The other methods were unsatisfactory. After 3 years of what my wife and I called “lesbian sex”, I got an inflatable penile prosthesis. We are both very satisfied with the results. I am now 10 months off ADT, am slowly getting my testosterone back and still have undetectable PSA. Once my testosterone levels are normal again, I may get the cancer back and have to go on ADT again, so I am happy that my erection abilities have been permanently remedied.

Each squeeze increases the hardness only a very small amount, so it takes a while to get hard enough for intercourse. I don't know why, but it's not troublesome enough for me to pursue a correction (especially if it might entail another replacement). 15 seconds sounds great, but I wouldn't want to go through another replacement in order to achieve it.

Once a week.

Agreed. They most defintely work before and during for a little more vigor.
I also use them as therapy as suggested in Dr Chen's (sp?) video.
*30 seconds on, 30 seconds off for 20? minutes. 3 sessions a week.

They absolutely do work for intercourse. And if was not for one, I wouldn't have intercourse with my wife at least on earth a week. I'm 81 and had a radical prostatectamy in 2008, 36 radiation treatments in 2019 and now looking at 5 SBRT soo. So I know about the use of pills, trimix and penis pumps quite well.

Can you tell me what brand of pump you use and do you also use the penis ring that goes at base of penis? How long does erection stay hard after removing pump. Do you also use Viagra, celais or other type of pill in conjunction with pump? Thanks for help

@thomasj1 this may seem a bit strange but, I started with a pump that my urologist in 2008 arranged with a salesperson at my urologists office. That pump eventually failed and I wasn't willing to pay their price for a new one. I'm pretty resourceful and I decided to build my own. I already had a hand operated vacuum pump so i made one from PVC pipe and an arrangements of fittings to accommodate the pump hose. It works great and I've been using it for several years. I do use penis rings I found on Amazon plus a penis ring vibrator that goes next to my penis ring and vibrates against my scrotum. I also use 100 mg. generic Viagra. The combination works very well and I can maintain the erection for 30 to 45 minutes.
Im 82 and married my wife 2 years ago and we have a very happy sex life.

Once a day for about 15 min with "pump and release" cycles.
Pump for rehab is used different way than when it is used for intercourse.
Slowly pump until erection is achieved, keep it pumped up for about 30 - 40 sec, than release pump and let penis naturally deflate. Than pump it up again, hold 30 sec -40 sec. Repeat couple of cycles and that is it. The idea is to just gently stretch tissue and urethra and to bring fresh blood in and out of the penis (inflate and deflate process). It is done usually for about a year. Beside that, you need to take Cialis every day which also promotes blood circulation.

Hope this was of some help.
