Are you taking it now? i have the paroxysmal version of afib. I was on flecainide for a month (50 or 100 mg twice daily) and had no side effects from it. I no longer take it daily but with my doc's approval, I have it on hand to use as a one-time bolus dose of 300 mg in the event of another afib episode that doesn't resolve spontaeously (the so-called "pill in pocket" self treatment). I havent used it that way yet. And yes, the idea makes me nervous.
