@colleenyoung in home and doing great! Long road to recovery but God has truly blessed me. If you have these please don’t put off getting removed if Dr says so. Mine was very invasive in the brain and skull and blood vessels and the bone. Sending many prayers

So scary. I’m waiting for MRI results and follow-up with neurosurgeon now. You have really encouraged me to do this and not wait. It’s frightening what they may find. I had edema and it was 2.7 last December and they wanted to do it then. I wanted to wait until next MRI. PLEASE KEEP IN TOUCH.

I had my surgery in 2009. Recovery was quick. I left the hospital ahead of schedule and returned to work ahead of schedule. My issues came after the recovery period. It started with pain near the incision site. This progressed to problems with speech and memory with the memory getting worse as time progressed. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Good luck with your recovery.

I’d like to know how those who have gone through craniotomy are doing now as I’m faced with having surgery now for left frontal anterior 2.7 cm with edema in December 2025.

@as72 I have mild cognitive impairment as a result of the tumor. I had to retire on disability in 2015 because I couldn't retain information I read. Physically I am in good shape but mentally it takes me a bit to recall words or complete sentences. I became a widow in 2023 which hasn't helped the mental status. I hope you are doing well. Thanks for checking in.

I have trouble remembering things as well and have for quite awhile. I lose my train of thought. I hope it doesn’t get worse after having surgery. I’m sorry to hear you are widowed. I was widowed in 2021. It’s a very lonely life and now I have to go through this alone.
