Has anyone experienced leg pain while taking Orgovyx?
I am 77 in good health except for PC, my PSA was 27.4, Gleason score 4+4=8, and decipher score was .84. I am into my 5th month of Orgovyx and completed my 28 IMRT radiation treatments last month. Since completing radiation treatment my first PSA level was < 0.08 and testosterone level was < 20. So far it seams like everything is heading in the right direction. I am doing weight resistance exercise daily for either upper body or legs. I have had some lower back pains that I treated with heating pad which helped. My worst problem now is I am having severe pain in the back my right leg where I was wounded in Vietnam from a 122mm rocket. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced leg pain while taking Orgovyx or could it just be I am experiencing some muscle loss which is causing the pain in the area of the wound.

Funny you should mention - I just started a very low dose gaba 5 days (100mg/d). Saw my PCP this afternoon and she is 90% sure my ankle pain is an injury I didn't know I sustained. Waiting on results from xray, so maybe I won't be blaming Orgovyx for this. The neuorpathy could be my body or the ADT - we will see. We doubled the gaba dose and will keep titrating upwards to see if I can lose the PeriNeuro as I call it. Pending the results of the xray, I may need to be looking into bone deficiency remedies (as you, Jeff, and others have discussed at times).

1 Reaction@kenporter thanks for the response.
I did check with my friend, he says his last two PSA's were zero, at least that sounds good.
And yes, it's that time - Happy Holidays to all!
@joeck
I would be interested if the x-ray found something.
They do ankle replacements when they can’t fix what’s going on, there’s so many bones involved. I’ve got a neighbor who has a problem with his ankle and it just isn’t resolvable. He gets cortisone shots every few months.
@jeffmarc
X-ray revealed no fractures but normal bone density. I will be reviewing the "Bone Health" discussion and wish my Uro team talked about anything along those lines (or exercise).
So we won't blame Orgovyx for this one, but in general maybe ADT is contributing to my PeriNeuro. Sorry to take us off the initial topic, but I guess it's all tied together by PC!

I suppose the pain in your ankle will still continue however. Hopefully increasing your dosage of gabapentin will help. I also take acetaminophen of every six hours.
70 year old ex athlete. Played all sports and pro tennis. Thigh pain. Strong yes. Had 5 treatments of sbrt radiation and psa now of 0.07. Was 12. Orgovyx for 4 months and have every side effect known. From thigh pain to hot flashes, mood swings to no libido. They promise 2 more months to go. Trouble getting off the toilet because of the pain. But the wife says live with it you are alive and beat the cancer How right she is.

It may be too late to do anything about it but then again your testosterone is going to take a while to come back so leg pain may continue.
I take gabapentin to help with joint pain and it can also help with hot flashes. Ask your doctor about it.

2 ReactionsI've been on Orgovyx about 4 months. I'm experiencing intermittent fairly severe thigh pain in my right leg. Sometimes it seems localized at my hip joint, but mostly it involves the whole muscle at the front of my thigh down almost to my knee. At night, although the pain wakes me up at times, I can still find a position that lets the pain recede so I can sleep. When I wake up it can be difficult to use that leg. It can be painful to get off the toilet. Usually, after 20 minutes stretching aimed at lessening hip pain, and a few hours of normal activity which these days has been crawling around my attic and/or working in my shop, the pain gets quite bearable, and often in the afternoon it seems to disappear, only to return once I sit for a while relaxing and then try to walk.
I'm in the process of getting the opinion of an orthopedic doctor, but to get my foot in the door I'm seeing a "same day" doc at the local clinic today for a referral.
I suspect this pain could be due to my recent increase in my exercise routine, but I also wonder if it isn't orgovyx.
I'm a big believer in using exercise as first line therapy for PCa and to counter ADT side effects, so I am alarmed that I feel I need to stop exercise for a while at least until I can understand if I'm doing harm if I try to exercise through the pain.
yes..knees are always sore..
I saw a PCP regarding my intermittently severe hip and leg pain. His examination, and the xray he ordered, didn't indicate anything in particular. He suggested using a TENS unit to counteract the pain, to stop the particular exercise movements that produce the worst pain, and see him if things don't start improving within a few weeks.
I bought a TENS unit, but I decided to return it after I read the warning on the box. Cancer patients should not use TENS, apparently, because not enough is known as to whether it can stimulate the growth of existing cancer cells, perhaps especially in bone.
After that I looked up Orgovyx side effects. A Mayo Clinic webpage lists the "more common" side effects:
"bone pain, muscle aches, cramps, pain, or stiffness, pain in the joints, swollen joints, neck pain, difficulty in moving"
FYI: a list of "less common" side effects also on that page includes "decreased interest in sexual intercourse", "inability to have or keep an erection", and "loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance".
So muscle aches, pain in the joints, and difficulty in moving are more commonly experienced by patients taking Orgovyx than ED and loss of libido. I had no idea.
