Upcoming Appointment in Rochester

Posted by gregmay2015 @gregmay2015, Mar 13 6:35pm

I am traveling 17 hours from North Carolina to an appointment in Rochester on Monday. Does anyone know if the weather is going to be bad or if they will likely cancel.

Please advise if possible.

Take care,
Greg

Ah, you are headed to a good place to help you.

I am a patient at Mayo Clinic MN and have been dealing with the impact of nerve function in my face. I look forward to hearing more about your experience as you are comfortable sharing.

Did you contact Mayo Clinic yourself or have a doctor that referred you? What appointments do you have lined up?

Thank you so much. I am staying at the Even Hotel. It is supposed to be close to the hospital. I hope it's nice. This drive is soooo long. Next time I will be flying@colleenyoung

@gregmay2015 It is quite possible that your flights could have been cancelled because of bad weather. Take it slow, when necessary, the interstates have BIG BIG plows! We drove from Upstate NY to Rochester, 1171 miles, 17+ hours because it was one of those times when flights were cancelled in huge numbers. I was afraid I would miss my appointments and surgery. If you need to return to Rochester after this visit, please keep in mind that the concierge service at Mayo will help you with your flights. https://www.mayoclinic.org/patient-visitor-guide/minnesota/concierge-services

@gregmay2015 You may have already viewed this website about Mayo Clinic Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Dey. I hadn’t. I just took a look and enjoyed reading about his innovative work. I hope your appointment goes well.

Here is the website about Dr. Dey if you have not seen it:

I look forward to hearing more.

What a weekend to travel to MN!
I went to visit a friend on MN / IOWA border on Sat afternoon, and till snowed in, not due to the amount, but strong winds, and travel was not advised. Hope to be back in Rochester.

Did you make it to Rochester?

@gregmay2015 Hope your visit to Mayo is going smoothly. How was the rest of your trip to get there? We sometimes get "white knuckle" syndrome in these situations. I hope your visit is productive and the trip home is hassle-free.
