Kidney pain?
I don't know if it's my kidney but I have scoliosis and I've been extremely stressed recently.
A lot of my pain is under my ribs where my kidney would be
It's only on one side
My urethra also hurts. It doesn't burn but it feels irritated.
I've been dealing with back pain for a bit with only brief moments of relief. Any thoughts?

Let’s go over your results. Everything looks solid for healthy kidney function. Your total protein of 7.4 is comfortably in the normal range, which means your kidneys aren’t leaking protein. Creatinine at 0.91 is right where it should be, showing your kidneys are filtering waste properly, and your BUN of 9 supports that. Your eGFR of 89 is very good, anything above 60 is considered healthy, so your kidneys are clearly doing their job.
Albumin at 4.5 is normal, indicating stable blood protein levels, and your electrolytes, sodium at 141 and potassium at 3.8, are also within range, meaning your kidneys are keeping your body balanced. Even if kidney issues were starting to develop, this test would show some abnormalities, which it doesn’t.
All together, these results strongly suggest your kidneys are healthy. The pain and irritation you’re feeling in your back and urethra are from muscle tension, scoliosis related strain, or bladder and pelvic floor irritation, especially since your discomfort can change with touch or movement.
It could be "renal colic" and that means you may be trying to pass a kidney stone.. praying for you!!
It would be good to check with your doctor if these pains and the urinary tract irritation are new. I have stage 3b CKD, which has no pain. Good to rule out a urinary tract infection, kidney stone(s), gastric, gallbladder, or other possibilities if you have been experiencing this for while.

3 Reactions1) Be careful people; it isn’t our job to diagnose or prescribe.
2) Pain serves a very good purpose. It is to alert us that there might be something wrong. If you have new or different pain that you can’t attribute to a known cause (injury, accident, known illness or condition …..etc) it might be a good idea to get yourself checked out my a medical professional.
3) I have Stage 3 CKD. There are no particular symptoms with that.
4) I have been prone to UTI most of my life. I do get symptoms from those and that’s what alerts me that I need to go get myself tested.
5) Get yourself checked out. What can it hurt?
