Pain under ribs for 9 years
I have had this pain on my right side, under my rib cage for 9 years. in the last month or so it has become chronic. I have had an MRI of the abdomen covering liver, pancreas, kidneys. They found an hemangioma in my liver and a cyst on my left kidney. They are telling me that this should not be causing me pain. The doctor cannot feel any lump as I think I do. but thinks it is my ribs. I am seeking another opinion from a different Gastroenterologist. She did suggest I see a surgeon to go in and explore because we can't seem to find anything wrong. But I explained that I am in pain everyday and now even when I bend at the waist I get a pain. which is new. Has anyone ever had anything like this. I don't know if I want surgery, too scared.

It would be good to check with your doctor if these pains and the urinary tract irritation are new. I have stage 3b CKD, which has no pain. Good to rule out a urinary tract infection, kidney stone(s), gastric, gallbladder, or other possibilities if you have been experiencing this for while.

3 Reactions1) Be careful people; it isn’t our job to diagnose or prescribe.
2) Pain serves a very good purpose. It is to alert us that there might be something wrong. If you have new or different pain that you can’t attribute to a known cause (injury, accident, known illness or condition …..etc) it might be a good idea to get yourself checked out my a medical professional.
3) I have Stage 3 CKD. There are no particular symptoms with that.
4) I have been prone to UTI most of my life. I do get symptoms from those and that’s what alerts me that I need to go get myself tested.
5) Get yourself checked out. What can it hurt?
