No acid fast bacilli

I gave a sputum test yesterday and the results came back no acid fast bacilli. Is this good news at all, since to find NTM they have to grow it out which takes weeks?

I follow positional drainage but one thing I do that helps the most is adding a type of positional drainage. I bring my knees to my chest, put my arms around them and press to my chest.
This puts pressure on hemidiaphram that presses against lungs.

@nicholslg I do postural drainage also.
I can see where pulling ones bended legs to the chest would add to the position on ones back.
I haven't been doing that but will give it a try to possibly add it to my routine. What I also do, that you may do, while on my back in the postural drainage position I use my cupped hands to do percussion cupping. I find that it helps a great deal... You might be doing that also.?

Well dang, my culture showed pseudomonas after a few days. Wonder what else it’s going to grow?!🤨 Luckily I’m going to National Jewish Hospital (ha no acronym👍) this week, so I’m eager to learn more about the situation.

Thank you! I will! I got another result today: +2 mucoid pseudomonas aeruginosa and +2 Smooth pseudomonas aeruginosa. Pretty depressing and so glad I’m going to Denver
