How do you get a full DEXA report with images?

Does the request have to be on your DEXA order from your doctor? If it's not, can I just tell them when I go to have the DEXA that that is what I want? Thanks!

Or you can request the full report with images from the records department where you were treated.

I requested at my dexa read from the technician who did my dexa. They usually have a printer right there and can run it off.

cat1203, that's what I do. I ask the doctor who sends me out with the report to have the receptionist copy it, and I keep the color copy. Every office will have different management styles. If I wait, I can't access the images, I don't think they save them.

Your health records are your own personal property. Sometimes there are different ways to request them, sometimes they want a fee. But you are able to request your records yourself.

Sometimes if you are having it done in a hospital system that uses MyChart to keep track of visits, meds and the like, you can access the results there. Once I see the results on my screen, I take a screen shot and print it for my records

@jw9 yes, I know I can request my medical records. My concern here was how to get a FULL report, including images, of my DEXA report. I've had two, and both times I got a one-page summary and that's it.

@hungrybirder That's where I have gotten my DEXA results before. I've had two, and both times I got a one-page summary and that's it. I didn't know more info was available and never asked for more. Now that I know there is more than I saw, I want to make sure I get it this time.

At the bottom of my report is "Click here to open imaging". It can take up to 10 minutes to retrieve the images but they should be there.

I've tried to attach the bottom of my report.

@cat1203 I actually had to go down to the imaging place where I had the scan and request the full report with images, and also the color-coded report. They gave me everything except for the color-coded report, something that actually has more data on it, because they don't have a color printer!

So weird. The doctor can pull everything online, but the person whose images were taken can't.

So much for "your records belong to you"! Ha!
At least we have a good discussion between us.
