Alternatives to standard Osteoporosis drugs

Posted by annie1 @annie1, May 19, 2025

Has anyone tried Calciven and did it increase your bone density as effectively as Evenity or Forteo ? My Dr. doesn't recognize any drugs besides the standard treatments. End of discussion. The other major problem is that Medicare may no cover it.

@dvargo Can you share how you did that? Hoping to do the same.

@loplady If you scroll all the way up to the first post I do everything that oopsiedaisy has done. If you read further she has another health issue that is hindering her. If you have no other health issues try all the approaches above.

@dvargo So you took bioidentical HRT? Isn't that considered a medication/drug?

Thank you for sharing. I too have osteopenia in my left hip.
Hypercalcium level in blood lab. I am awaiting a scheduled PET scan to see if my HER 2 cancer has metastasized somewhere. Trying to find an answer to what elevated calcium refers to. I stopped Vitamin D and Calcium supplements a week ago. I went to the Caribbean for sunshine and a volcano mud soak. I feel much better.
I had 19 infusions of chemo infusion treatments in 18 months. The break was good.

@oopsiedaisy What medication are you on now? Your story is similar to mine. I recently reversed bone loss in my spine. No drugs.

@dvargo How did you reverse it in your spine without drugs? I am hoping to do the same.

It's not very expensive. I was just curious if people have had good luck with supplements in improving their bone density.

Hello:

I have been on Calciven for just over a year now. While I cannot answer this question right now, I am due for a second Dexa Scan and will respond once I know the results.
