How do you clear the HPV16 virus to prevent cancer recurrence?

Posted by blessed52 @blessed52, Jan 10, 2025

Has anyone (Male) had any success totally clearing the HPV virus with Supplements/Diet changes or seeing a Naturopathic Doctor after having Cancer and going through Cancer treatment. I keep reading about AHCC....
"IM NOT WANTING THE CANCER TO RETURN"
hpv 16, Tonsil Cancer.
Had a right tonsillectomy and lymph nodes removed. No radiation or chemo @ Mayo Rochester.

@jc76 thank you so much. This information is so helpful. It also explains a lot . Im assuming the HPV-16 means Human Papilloma Virus? 🤔

@sart
Yes HPV means that.

I believe that all of us with cancer have immune deficiencies or abnormalities that prevent our own immune system from fighting off cancerous changes. This is not backed by scientific studies but my own opinion after 14 years of Immune Augmentation Therapy at a clinic in the Bahamas. Things that I believe have helped me survive 14 years with metastatic SCC head and neck cancer: A top medical and surgical team from Mayo Rochester and following their direction, self research into immune augmentation, a supplement of Beta Glucan from mushrooms or yeast taken daily which was started by the Bahamas Clinic 13 years ago, Medicinal mushroom supplements ( read The Rebel's Apothecary by Jennifer Sansucci for good information), an improved, more plant based diet, and continued research into new treatments. The AHCC is a mushroom based supplement that has had actual studies done with it. Beta Glucan also has studies behind it, but none of these complementary therapies have the scientific double blind studies to provide enough data to give accurate results. Sometimes we just have to go with "won't hurt, might help". Memorial Sloan Kettering has a nice complementary medicine information source available on;ine to look for safety issues. I take other mushrooms besides Turkey Tail which include Lion's Mane and that can affect blood clotting so we have to be careful with these additional supplements. Mayo pharmacists evaluated my OTC supplement/drug list and added their knowledge and information initially. While I do not have HPV associated SCC, I believe that boosting your immune system has to help your fight against cancer. I am not sure that clearing HPV from the body is an option but who knows what the future may bring?

I had the exact same surgery in Gainesville Fl. In 2018 and I have had zero symptoms since, that was the most painful recovery Ive ever had the disspleasure of induring. So I get your fear of a reoccurance. Mu left clavical area to my shoulder never regained the muscle mass.

@guytee1956, welcome. It's hopeful and helpful to hear that you have had zero symptoms since recovering from surgery. Even though it was the most painful recovery you ever experienced, it helps to know that it gets better.

I'm more curious on how you got out doing Radiation like the other 99% of us? You're the first person I've heard of with HPV16 tonsil cancer with lymph nodes removed that didn't have Radiation treatment? I'd like to have gotten out of that myself. I had two choices: Surgery and Radiation or No Surgery, Chemo, and Longer Radiation treatment. That was it.

I think I was blessed to catch the tumor early on. The only symptom I had was a sore throat. Between diagnosis and surgery was two weeks. The cancer had not spread to my lymph nodes (26 were removed).
It's still a worry awaiting the Nav Dx results each time. Humbly in prayer and thankful.

My dermatologist and PCP stated that once you have HPV there is nothing available to cure it or remove it. You can prevent it by a vaccine.

I was told almost everyone has it. It usually remains dormant but can resurface with immune problems, injuries, etc. I had gone through 30 rounds of radiation which caused fatigue and probably affected my immune system. I was told a recent SCC I had in a sore was most likely caused by HPV as was non sun area.

I have not heard of any supplements or OTCs that could help it keep dormant but would like that information if someone has it.

I used a product from Spain called colpofix with great success. There are studies to create a similar product in the US, but they are testing carrageenan instead of Carboxymethyl beta-glucan, which is not as effective.
