First appt for bladder cancer this coming week at Mayo Phoenix
Hello, I had bladder cancer a decade ago. Early stage. Treatment turbt. I just found out I have a recurrence during yearly cystoscopy. I’m switching from my urologist to Mayo in Phoenix. I wasn’t scared last time but feeling very anxious this time. Any tips, questions or suggestions for my first appt at Mayo? My appt is with a PA-C. Will I be assigned a urologist oncologist. Thank you for any encouragement or suggestions. Dorothy

@brianwong57 I’m a trauma therapist and in that process of becoming who I am now I will always be on a spiritual quest. A gazillion years ago I went to a deepak chopra weekend to begin my meditation/prayer process. Grew up in a religious home. Now I’m more spiritual than religious. I know that’s vague and it’s a big subject. Dorothy

3 Reactions@dorothyb1153 Morning Dorothy! This is really great to hear that you already have a spiritual foundation. Many people dealing with health challenges either never had any exposure to their spiritual world or simply don’t believe in this path of a healthy body, mind and spirit. You’ve got a few months before your appointment with Dr Tyson, so what will you do to change your outcome? Just curious?

1 Reaction@brianwong57 I’m eating clean foods, no sugar, and coming up with fun and easy recipes to make with my granddaughter.
I like to run and dance so working my way back to enjoying that. More like walking and five minutes of dancing at this point.
Noticing joy somewhere each day and gratitude helps.
How about you?

2 Reactions@dorothyb1153 I start my day with a 30 minute healing meditation and recently added Reiki. I’ve been doing this daily since last July. It seems to have had a great effect on my outcome! I decided not to wait for someone to tell me my outcome. I believed that with 3 months before my appointment, I could make a difference which I did! As you already know being a Trauma Therapist, there are many layers of emotional, mental and psychological trauma we don’t even know exists because we buried it deep down inside. But guess what, it’s still there and shows it’s head when you least expect it, or perhaps when let out unknowingly through triggers like stress, challenges etc…
