Hello @dshultz, I would like to add my welcome to Connect along with @lisalucier and others. I only took gabapentin for a few weeks so don't really have much experience to share. I stopped taking it because I only have numbness with my neuropathy and it wasn't helping. I discussed stopping it with my primary care doc who consulted with her team and confirmed that the drug doesn't help numbness symptoms. I did type your question into Google Scholar which is a tool I often use for locating research papers. It did find a lot of articles but I don't think there is a clear cut answer to your question.
