Living with Parkinson's Disease - Meet others & come say hi

Welcome to the Parkinson's Disease group on Mayo Clinic Connect.
This is a welcoming, safe place where you can meet people living with Parkinson's or caring for someone with Parkinson's. Let's learn from each other and share stories about living well with Parkinson's, coping with the bumps and offering tips.

Chances are you'll to be greeted by fellow member and volunteer patient Mentor, Teresa (@hopeful33250), when you post to this group.

We look forward to welcoming you and introducing you to other members. Feel free to browse the topics or start a new one.
Let's chat. Why not start by introducing yourself?

Hi @sally2026

How is your husband doing in the care facility? Is he able to get more physical therapy there?

@sally2026 hi I am sorry about you having to put your husband in a care facility how bad does the balance problem get? I am only a few months diagnosed with PD and know little of what to expect and when, however my doctors are working well with me

Hello 65 year old male and recently diagnosed with pd- always healthy and happy and full of energy and now I’m feeling depressed. Definitely feeling symptoms- rigidity, sleep disorders, constipation are the worst for now. Trying to stay active and not get down. Also worried because I have a lot of dementia in my family. Any advice or thoughts?
