Onero exercise and Medicare

Posted by cobb @cobb, Dec 27, 2025

Has anyone been able to get Medicare coverage for the Onero exercise program and if so, how did you do it? Onero is the only exercise program based on the LIFTMOR clinical trial shown to increase BMD.

I’m in New York. I had aPT appointment today, and asked how the ONERO program is billed. It is almost entirely covered by Medicare. There is only a small amount that is not covered.(under $10).
I know your PT is certified as a physical therapist. She is licensed. The ONERO program requires a PT to be certified in the ONERO program. I would say she is not ONERO CERTIFIED. If she were, there would be no problem with Medicare. The program is new with few certified physical therapist. Judging by how popular the program is, she may want to look into becoming certified.
BTW my endocrinologist wanted to put me on Evenity also.

@molly4619 fantastic. My PT is Onero certified! Would it be possible for you to forward your PTs name and phone number as Wendy Green (mine) would like to touch base with her. She currently teaches 4 classes with 8 students in each and a lot of us are on Medicare. I really appreciate your help,

@cobb another thing I learned is that they don’t Bill for physical therapy. They Bill only for ONERO. That may be her problem. She really should check with whoever certified her for the correct codes. I also would think she has some type of certification number showing she is indeed certified.

@cobb Hi I accidentally replied twice to Molly. I was trying to ask you where you found your Onero PT.

@oakmary2 Just google ONERO certified physical therapy in wherever you’re looking. You have to be careful because the search pulls up different PT offices. Scroll through and you’ll find the ONERO certified one. The program is new, so there aren’t that many.

@oakmary2 go to Onero Academy website as it lists only the Onero certified practitioners. Use your fingers on the map to get close to your geographical location.

@molly4619 can you give me any more information? I just spoke with Medicare (800-633-4227) and they have no information about Onero specifically, the PT would have to call and ask about it. Are you on traditional Medicare as I am with medigap addtional coverage? Do you know how it was billed so as to be covered? Any help would be appreciated as I am paying out of pocket for this! Thank you so much.
