Failed ACDF Surgery

Posted by gingert24 @gingert24, May 4, 2025

I had acdf surgery of c4 thru c7 two and 1/2 years ago. They won’t say it was a failed surgery because the hardware is still in place makes no sense). I’ve been in constant pain ever since. I’ve had steroid injections with absolutely no relief. I’ve had massages once a month and pt also. My left shoulder blade area (rhomboid and traps) are in unbearable pain. I’ve cried more than once at appointments because I guess they have no idea. I take 4 and sometimes 5 10mg oxycodone daily and would take more but then I’d run out. Is anyone else out there in so much pain they feel like giving up?

I had acdf surgery done October 28 and I’m in so much pain I had it done on c5-c6. I have terrible shoulder pain my hands tingle and my feet go numb and burn I have bad migraines and neck pain and they won’t prescribe nothing but gabapentin for pain that doesn’t help. It’s very hard to live in daily and constant pain I’m 33 and have degenerative disc diease scattered arthritis and spinal stenosis and scoliosis and nerve damage. I got my nerves burned in my neck made my pain worse then I got epidural steroid injection helped the pain a little over a month and then decided to do surgery I wish I didn’t do it but when your so desperate for pain relief you will do anything reason for surgery was I had a slipped disc and a pinched nerve and he said I had bone spurs he took at as well I totally understand what your going through everyday is miserable and the doctors do not listen or care. I’m sorry you are going through what you are I truly hope your pain stops and never comes back
