Hotel Indigo and “walking trails” need some clarification
Hi, visiting the Mayo Clinic in March and traveling with my dog. I am considering staying at Hotel Indigo because of the skywalk system. Hotel Indigo is pet friendly and has the very vague “walking trails nearby “ on their website. Can anyone tell me does this mean actual green space is easily accessible from the hotel? Thanks!

Here is a link to the Hotel Indigo, have you called them to ask about this?
I stayed here the last trip to Rochester, and I loved it!
The restaurant Crave was SO good.
We were there in October and the weather was great. I'm no expert on Rochester weather in March, but I wonder if anything green would be covered in snow?
The skyway was very easy to navigate, and you pass right by Chester's restaurant (Also SO good) on your way out the door to the Mayo.
I did not notice any green spaces. This is situated in the downtown. But I did not have a dog with me, so I did not pay attention. I was mostly concerned with getting to the Clinic on time and food!
We did venture a few blocks away to go to Hollandberry Pannekoken on the advice of local Mentor @johnbishop. But I still don't recall and park-like green grass.
I would call the hotel and ask this of them.
I'm sorry I couldn't answer your real question about green space...but I can attest to the Hotel Indigo and the ease of getting to the Clinic.

4 Reactions@karukgirl , thanks for the good review of the hotel. I will give them a call and see what information they offer. I was hoping to hear input from any pet parents who have stayed themselves for a real boots on the ground perspective. Thanks again for all the good information!

2 ReactionsSecond the motion for Indigo. Enjoyed the daily steps past all the stores,
food vendors, Galleria and International food court. Follow staff and badge wearers to best food places reasonable prices. Great coffee choices.
Was subzero weather so sky way and subway great for access if you are a walker. Shuttle to airport stops regularly.
I did not see any local green space. Crave has a wonderful happy hour menu
even if you don’t drink.

4 ReactionsI second @karukgirl’s “Welcome” and comments about your downtown stay in Rochester when you visit for March appointments. It sounds like others have encouraging things to say about your hotel choice. I know you are waiting for pet parents and I cannot help. But…..
I agree with you, calling the hotel directly is a good idea. Additionally, I thought I’d pipe in to suggest looking at Rochester downtown using Google Maps Satellite Mode to get a visual of green spaces, put everything in perspective.
I am interested to hear what you learn about accessible green spaces. Also, it sounds like this is your first trip to Rochester and Mayo Clinic. Do you mind sharing a bit more about what brings you to Mayo Clinic and/or what you will be addressing while there? Will anyone be traveling with you and your dog?

6 Reactions@jlharsh great idea about Google Maps. I would not have thought of that. I will be traveling with my husband and this will be his second visit to Mayo. First visit we stayed in a Airbnb house about 1/2 mile from St. Mary’s hospital. Great for our dog but really not the easiest with walking to St. Mary’s to catch the shuttle to Mayo. My husband has Cardiac Sarcoidosis and Heart Failure. His local Cardiologist is at KU Hospital in Kansas. We very much appreciate the expertise and support of Mayo.
