Symptoms after being taken off HRT

Posted by sue417 @sue417, Feb 28, 2025

Hi
So since I've been taken off hrt because of hormone positive breast cancer. I'm having debilitating hot flashes mood swings, depression and this tingling in the back of my head along with anxiety. My lovely g p took away my lorezepam .5mg Which I take for tinnitus and my anxiety. I have made another appointment to get this or get something else for anxiety. Wondering, if anyone else has had this tingling in their head? It's sort of freaking me out. I would do anything to go back , hrt .

My functional medicine provider told me that if one is stopping hrt they must do it slowly over a period of time to avoid complications. I don't know if that applies to you in any way.

Well it was not stop slowly over time it was stopped the day they told me I had cancer my GP was not the best I no longer go to him. Yes that is why my symptoms have been so severe or were they aren't as bad now since I've been on my medication

Hello. Back in October of last year, my letrozole and lupron was removed from my treatment due to being on it for 8 years... now I am experiencing severe depression and anxiety to the point where I cannot eat and all I do is worry, I have some similar reactions like you.

I'm not sure if you were responding to my post but I was actually on hormones. Estrogen and progesterone I was not on hormone blockers after my surgery. But I am taking an antidepressant now mild because my symptoms were so severe menopause and being pulled off the hormones it took a bit to get used to but it's good feel better than I did before. Just taking 50 mg of Zoloft. I tried four different antidepressants and this was the only one that I didn't get side effects from.
