Relapse after BMT
Our son had a BMT in March of 2024. Everything has been looking really good until he had a bone marrow biopsy two weeks ago. There were some suspicious immature b-cells detected. My heart sunk, are we dealing with cancer again, not even 2 years past BMT. Have any of you had this happen? He has appointments on Monday so I'm sure we will find out, but this Mama's heart is hurting thinking about him having to fight for his life again.

@dwolden that’s hopeful. We got to the hellish aspect of the Car-T last week. He got through that ok, but all the steroids have left him very weak (can’t even stand on his own) and just beat up. We’re out of the hospital now and he will start PT, and of course still a ton of transfusions to go, so hopefully better days ahead.
He had an autologous stem cell transplant 9 years ago for multiple myeloma, and now they’re thinking of giving him back the cells they kept as extras, not as a cure for the leukemia, but to make him generally better. I’m all for thinking outside the box! So, onward!!
