Hello..been reading about the benefits of Tumeric and Ginger on stabilizing and improving kidney function. As well as Activated Charcoal which was a first for me. Curious if anyone is taking these and have experienced any benefits. Working to slow Kidney decline of Stage 4 in my husband.
Thank you.

@sultanvr "Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing" is the synopsis I figured out. From what my dive into your question revealed, while inflammation might be decreased, the risk of kidney stones and other negative side effects may simply not be worth it. Working with the underlying cause of the kidney function decline could go a long way to helping.
Your husband is lucky to have you helping him out! It's scary, isn't it?

1 ReactionI've been slowing ADPKD decline for multiple years with 40+ supplements per a NP from upstate NY. Now, finally at ESKD, I've cut dosing of many yet retain RRF @ 600ml/day on MHD. With dual kidneys at +27 cm. I'm seeking removal of both via HALN while still healthy enough for major surgery. I enjoy my 4 good days between dialysis from Davita! No transplant wanted/planned.
