Weight Gain with Evenity

Some have said they gained some weight when taking Evenity. Any idea at about what shots you noticed this? I am now going to be taking shots #9 and I do notice about a 4 to 5 lb. gain. Anyone else notice a gain in weight and if so, when was it noticeable?

I have had a injections and started to see my stomach getting puffy.
I have gained about 2 pounds all in my abdominal area.
I am a small person so 2 pounds is meaningful

This started about 4 months into the process.

I noticed it immediately, withinn the first 1-2 weeks. It was gradual through the 12 shots. 8-9 lbs gained after 12 shots with exercising more and eating less. It's now late Jan 2026 .Last shot was late Aug 2025. STILL eating less (than before Evenity) and exercising more and the weight will not come off. Evenity changed my metabolism for sure and I am so frustrated.

I am one of those who gained 10 lbs on Evenity. It started immediately with 2 lbs in the first month and slowly and steadily increased with each new shot. I completed my 12th/final shot in Aug 2025. Was desperately hoping the weight would start to come off once it was out of my system at 60 days. That was a few weeks ago...no weight loss yet at all. I am 55 and am exercising more and eating less than when I started Evenity because I want to LOSE THIS WEIGHT! Like so many others have posted here, it's beyond frustrating. My endocrinologist said she's never heard of this as a side effect for Evenity. We women commenting here know better. The worst part is that my Dexa scores decreased by 5% in three categories. My spine score did increase 6% but my Dr. was hoping for gains of up to 20%+ since I am relatively young and very active. I just did a Reclast infusion last week and am using the new Osteoboost vibrating waist band in addition to strength training and power walking to try to stay strong. I've had two major fragility fractures since turning 50 and am now officially diagnosed with osteoporosis. If this Evenity weight ever comes off, I will re-post to let all of you reading here now. If anyone else has completed all 12 of their Evenity shots and has had success with the weight starting to come off, please comment here and give me hope...I really need some!

@ojaimama hi unfirtunately i have 1 stupid shit left. i gained 20 lbs in 10 months i do not want this last shot. think i will just eat nothing this last month. was fat befire 172 now worse i am just suck over this. i had liposuction 7 years ago think he did not takeeniugh fat cells from my stomach and now evenity made me look 3 mo pregnant i could not lose it before how do now with spinal fusion and bad left knee. just sick. i do t want this last shot. it is not good for stress on my spine to be 195. im just sick with wirry i cant gain anymore. i read they out shit in these osteo drugs to hang on to your fat cells because hey think only skinny people get low bone and osterporosis. stupid stupid stupid. they are only HURTING US ALL OF US. ESPECUALKY THOSE WHO ARE FAT TO START.

@findtheanswersdn Hi~ I am so sorry to hear about what you've been going through with Evenity. That is really interesting that you read that some of the osteo drugs may purposefully cause weight gain. With Evenity, I did read that the drug directly inpacts fat absorption which set off my alarm bells. The big question is why Evenity causes some women to gain weight but not the majority. I can see from comments here on Mayo clinic that there are some women who are posting that they didn't gain any along with those of us posting that we absolutely did. And the next big question is why isn't the weight coming off once Evenity is out of our systems (or at least mine)? To me, it seems like instead of helping my bones build bone, it just helped my fat cells build fat. I wish you the best of luck in your journey with this!!
