I’ve been on brensocatib for a little over 3 months. Today I’m in the hospital being evaluated for a possible TIA of my right eye. This is what happened in a nutshell: I was standing in my house waiting to go for an endoscopy to help determine how bad my reflux is and if it may have caused my bronchiectasis. Suddenly a curtain seemed to descend over my right eye and my brain went fuzzy. Only lasted for 10 seconds or so and all symptoms disappeared. Foolish me, I went for the endoscopy but later in the day I got to thinking about my eye so went to the ED. I’ve been here 4 days now getting various tests. Still don’t know anything.
Is it related to the brensocatib? I don’t know. I’m calling Insmed tomorrow to discuss it with them.

Have they checked for retinal detachment also? The sudden "curtain over your eye" is a main symptom of that as well as a blockage of blood flow to the retina (TIA).
@cwal Yes, I had a very thorough exam by an ophthalmologist before I was discharged from the hospital. Everything looked fine with my eyes, thank God. Best guess is I had a transient ischemic episode of my eye. I'll let y'all know what Insmed says, though I suspect it had nothing to do with the bresocatib.

Glad your eyes checked out ok! What was the ED advice for a suspected TIA of your eye?
@cwal Advice? Not much. I'm hoping to see a neurologist soon who can set me up with an MRI. I couldn't do it while I was there in the hospital because the GI doc had implanted a pH monitor in my esophagus which will take 30 days to pass through my system. Bad timing on my part! As for now, no definitive diagnosis, just educated guesses.
