Getting GentleCure (IM-SRT) for my 2 Basal Cell Carcinomas

Posted by pianist3 @pianist3, Aug 21, 2025

Hi, everyone! So, I'm in the process of scheduling my treatment for my 2 basal cell carcinomas (they are above my lip.) Anyway, after much research and also being terrified of needles and Mohs surgery (I can't use epinephrine and I have severe anxiety), I've decided to go with GentleCure (IM-SRT). My doctor says I'm a good candidate for it. I'm hoping and praying that I can get through the treatments easily. I will be bringing my stuffed doggie. 🙂 Has anyone had this treatment? Please, please send me only positive comments and anything helpful to make this process easier and more gentle on my skin. I'm reading up on taking more healthy foods to heal my skin, collagen building supplements (maybe) and lots of prayer!! I'm just hoping and praying for no pain, no burning, no radiation sickness, etc. I'm praying for you all!!! Thank you for any encouragement and kind words...life is not always easy...but, I will certainly be wearing more sunscreen and wearing it daily from now on!! Love you guys!!! Mia 🙂

Hi I hope everyhing heals well for you.

I am going to try gentle cure this time. They suggested Mohs surgery but I found out that is always the go to treatment. He showed me how he would cut and wow what a large scar thst would be. It is on my face, below the nose and above my lip. They said I am a candidate so I am staying positive, I definitely prefer no scar. SCC

I am searching for people who already had this trearment. I was offered no alternative. In researching, I found Gentle Cure

@bhintz777 Best of luck to you! I've had so many BCCs and SCCs but I'm fairly certain I had this myself in the past for one on my face also. How many treatments do you anticipate?

@bhintz777 Hi, yes, I did Gentle Cure on both my spots above my upper lip and below my nose. I have no scars now and I’m happy! But, I’m a super sensitive person and the radiation did affect me, my energy waned, I felt dizzy at times, and it affected my immune system And thyroid. But, I’m also post-menopause, post-hysterectomy, post-appendectomy and post Covid survivor (4x), so maybe you’ll be just fine! I would recommend drinking lots more water, take immune supplements like Airborne, Vit C, magnesium, zinc, eat lots of fruits and veggies, lean proteins, complex carbs, you’ll do great!!! Hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions! It doesn’t hurt at all, and they let me hold my favorite teddy bear every time!! I did have to use a tooth guard, and have them use a new one each time, they reused the one I had each time for 15 sessions and it caused me to have two UTI’s and a kidney infection in the hospital, so change it each day!! Sending you healing ❤️‍🩹 blessings and keep me posted!!! 🙏🙏❤️❤️🙏🙏 Mia 😊😍

@samclembeau Hi, Sam! I actually only had redness, because I was very diligent about putting on Aquaphor salve (better than Vaseline, imo.) I reapplied about 10 X's a day and especially at night...I still use it about 4X a day now, the redness is almost gone, it's light pink now and you probably wouldn't be able to tell I ever had it. The spots seem drier than my other skin and no hair on them (but, that's fine for my upper lip, haha!) Anyway, where is your spot located? I'm sure you'll be just fine, if you use a lot of Aquaphor. Best of luck and prayers for you!! Please keep me posted!!! 🙂 PS: It took about 1 month to have all of the redness go away. 🙂

my spots are on the bridge of my nose, cheek, and eyebrow. thank you for the information. was worried about open sores or blisters that would take forever to heal. gentle radiation sounds like the way to go.

@samclembeau Yes, You'll really like it, I think. From what I gather, you can have up to 2 spots worked on at a time, but that's just from the place that I was going to. But, you'll have to check with your provider. It can work great for basal cell and squamish cell carcinomas...but, not super deep ones...but, don't quote me! 🙂 Sending you healing blessings!! You've got this!! hugs, Mia 😉

@samclembeau you’re very welcome! There is no pain as well!! Zero! And I have intense anxiety, so if I can do it, anyone can. Let me know how it’s going and I’ll keep you in my prayers! 🙏🙏🥰🥰

Call Gentle Cure No surgeries. I had skin cancer on my nose in 1995. 4Hours in doctor office in Jan 1995.
Cut then checked repeatively. Then June went in the hospital to have skin graft then Oct 1995 had 26 weeks of radiation. Worst year of my life. Now another between my nose and uppee lip. I dont want surgery again so Gentle Cure said I am a candidate but I am looking for someone who had the treatment to talk to.

@bhintz777 Hello, Thirteen days ago I finished my twentieth and final IG SRT treatment from Gentle Cure in Tacoma, WA. My basal cell carcinoma was on the tip of my nose. I am a 78 year old man. Treatment area had noticeable scab after ten or so treatments. Today I have only a small scab which should be hone by next week. I have a follow up appointment in six weeks.

I was told I could have Mohs surgery but I would have to go down the street to a cosmetic surgeon immediately after the Mohs surgeon was done removing the cancer. I opted for IG SRT and am very satisfied.

@pianist3
My Mayo MOHS surgeon also recommended Aquaphor. I find it much thicker and goes into skin much easier.
