Suggestions how prepare for 1st Evenity injection prevent side effects

Posted by wili22 @wili22, Jan 21 8:42pm

Hi, I have been diagnosed with severe osteoporosis based on 2 Dexa scans. I have had an autoimmune condition, ITP. I will receive my first Evenity shot and would like to decrease possible side effects. Any positive suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I can understand why someone who has never had a long term medication would be reluctant to start.

Funny! Received IVIG infusions For three years and had major side effects

Please explain what you mean by “protect the gains from Evenity”. Dr only prescribed Evenity injection.

Thank you!

May I ask how old you are? Are you taking other drugs?

I am 58. Just started evenity in December. I have always worked out so I’m doing that. I just started Vitamin D and calcium citrate supplements. Also, I started HRT.

Vitamin k also seems important. Does your hrt include testosterone?

The osteoporosis treatment plan and drug sequencing is something to discuss with your Osteoporosis treatment doc. The dug that I take to make sure I don't lose the Evenity gains is Prolia. There are other choices.

If you are willing to share your decision making on testosterone I would benefit and I believe the others trying to make this decision would benefit.

I just didn’t like what the side effects could be. Totally personal. Some people may not care. My HRT doctor told me it would work fine without the testosterone.
