1 or 2 months no nausea and then boom...nausea for couple days?

Posted by mikejjb123 @mikejjb123, Dec 21, 2025

I have had GERD and UC for years. Would have nausea for months at a time. Maybe ok for a couple days. All of a sudden going for months with no nausea and then a couple days of nausea. Things completely reversed as I eat and drink anything. Ideas? Thanks and happy holidays.

I had nausea with cold sweats several times, along with belly pain…got checked out and had a largish, aggressive adenocarcinoma…fortunately, it hadn’t spread ! Some symptoms aren’t serious and others are, especially if they repeat.

I have not been officially diagnosed with Gastroparesus but had major nausea for days. Was given a drug called Metoclopramide and it stopped the nausea immediately and was able eat again and feel good. It is a short term drug. It speeds up digestion in the stomach. I was already takimg scripts for slow bowel motility.

Hello @mikejjb123

I just noticed this discussion that you started a month ago. I see from your first post that you have both GERD and UC. How are these issues being controlled? Are you taking medications, and are there any food restrictions?

Hi, @mikejjb123 and thanks for the tag, @lisalucier

You have no doubt adjusted to quite a bit due to having UC and GERD.

I have been addressing systemic functioning on symptom at a time and for whatever reason my body likes it best when all things are consistent. Of course, this isn’t always possible. I recently had a couple days of total fatigue and feeling nauseous. My diet is super consistent, I don’t smoke or drink so I know these weren’t the culprit. I need to eat often and maintain a consistent activity/exercise routine that I believe contributed.

How are you feeling by now? Have you had any lifestyle changes outside of diet?
