Should vitamin d & k be taken at same time? Zzz

Recently diagnosed w osteoporosis. Reading book rebuild your bones by mira& Jayson calton. They said not to take vitamin d & k together because they compete with each other. Taking bone strength slim tablets. My question is that if it includes both of these vitamins then Why do most supplements combine the vit d & k together? Or should I be taking them separately. I am thankful I found this site to help me.

For those of us with insomnia, be aware that Vitamin D3 may interefere with melatonin. I take my D3 with breakfast, along with the K2 MK-4 (occasionally alternating with K2 MK-7).

@way Vitamin D and K work together. Ditch the book and take D3&K! I have been taking a D3&K gelcap daily for more than two years now, after having read that the two supplements work together.

@rashida both are not water soluble vitamins and should be taken under a drs care

We all produce melatonin naturally, although the amount reduces markedly with age. So even if we do not supplement with melatonin, I believe that Vitamin D3 could still blunt our own melatonin production,
impacting sleep. For me, supplementing melatonin can be helpful, but not a panacea!

I just watched a YouTube video last night that said to take the D3 and K along with your calcium one half hour before going to bed. It was a woman giving the advice. You could do a search in the YouTube search bar for D3 and K and many videos will be listed. My calcium includes D3 so I hope I am not getting too much. I had better reseach how much each pill contains.

@starbright375 It could be that some docs, especially oncologists and geriatric docs, are very careful about supplements and may prefer that their patients take these elements separately: calcium, D3, K2 , magnesium. Probably easier to be more sure what the patient is taking than in the combo supplements. Just my guess…
