Are there online groups you can join while facing alcohol addiction?
I am looking for more online groups facing the same challenges I am. Being able to get feedback back and support group. Also to learn about triggers and craving while going through process.
Interested in more discussions like this? Go to the Addiction & Recovery Support Group.

Welcome to Mayo Connect.
Online groups tend to have a large number of attendees, so less personal support than may be found in in-person groups:
First, you might check out the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for options:
https://www.samhsa.gov/find-support/health-care-or-support/support-group-or-local-program
On that page, there is a link to a document listing options:
https://www.samhsa.gov/sites/default/files/virtual-recovery-resources.pdf
Hope that helps.
Do you care to share the challenges you are facing?

1 Reaction@bigk50 Have you looked into Alcoholics Anonymous? It saved my life. I am over 8 years sober having battled the disease of alcoholism since the age of 14 years old. Go to https://www.aa.org/
you will be able to find in person and Zoom meetings at all times and places. I lost my partner to this disease. He was only 55 years old. All you have to do is stay sober today. Every morning, tell yourself that all you have to do is not drink "today." Telling myself "I will never drink again," is too much and honestly none of us know the future. If I can do it, you can do it!!!!

Check out Celebrate Recovery online groups!
Well said. It is important to focus on today, rather than an infinite future that we cannot know. We can do just about anything for one day.

2 ReactionsYou can download a helpful App called "Meeting Guide" that shows online AA meetings and in-person meetings near your location. Requesting an official AA Sponsor can help too.
Google AA online meetings. You will find numerous virtual meetings - all you have to do is have a webcam and download Zoom. Take Care!
Hi bigk50,
First of all, congratulations for having the courage to look for help. That is truly the first step to recovery. Don't be discouraged by relapses. Use them to learn at least one thing about yourself.
If you search online for AA meetings on Zoom, I think you'll find a few you can joint.
In early sobriety, attending in-person meetings is critical. You'll learn a lot, find out a lot of very different people share the same problem. You'll make friends, and in time find a sponsor.
Keep it up! You're doing great! And great things are ahead for you!
Joe
