I love Mayo connect and all those who have found it and post. I too believe in our own choices. Our medical care can be vastly different I have found. Depending on test results, I personally was a platelet donor on a regular basis at the Red Cross for 25 years. My blood numbers never went back to my normal levels after chemo. Different treatments used did not increase my platelets or white cells. It got worse.
I got a BMB and although odd, I did not find it painful, more pressure full and my 25 years plus of donation needles made that part manageable. The findings?

Fortunately, on Mayo i am reading of various treatments to treat MDS and AML. MD Anderson and City of Hope where i was treated continue to study cures without tradition chemo infusions.
