Cell Phones Issues with Arthritic Fingers - Any Suggestions?

Posted by dennismm @dennismm, Jan 6 7:28am

Well, this might be a limited problem, I don’t know how many of you have this problem, but I’ll make an attempt anyway.

Like almost everyone today I rely on my cellphone. Apple iPhone. A couple of my fingers on my right hand are slightly bent making it next to impossible to hit the correct letters on the keypad. I want to type an h but wind up with the next key over.

I’ve tried voice dictation, but sometimes it’s just not practical. Has anyone been able to find a different keypad that they downloaded with larger keys? Yes I know the the iPhone screen has limited area for larger keys, but even slightly more spaces would help.
Thanks for reading!

Hello, again. I just read that some crooked fingers can be straightened with specialized splinting and therapy. Good Luck!

My son is a hand surgeon and he says anyone attempting to straighten out a bent finger with a splint is a quack! It Wii never ever work. Only way to straighten out a bent finger is to insert a pin but that means you will never be able to bend that finger ever again!!

@dennismm Hello I just Googled, "Treatment for bent fingers," Mayo Clinic. They mentioned splinting and therapy, among other treatments. So there's that information. I would like to say that in my experience, with my health problems, and having been a proofreader and editor for a medical malpractice journal, it pays to find out information from the top hospitals for a person's condition. And if applicable, to go to PUBMED for journal entries on the condition. Or if it is a medication, to see ALL the information, not just what your doctor or pharmacy tells you about it. And Google the medication name and then do a slash, "lawsuits."

Hello. Would a keyboard help? I just saw a new device from the new tech exposition from CES. It is called Clicks Power Keyboard. They are taking orders now with a discount with shipping going out in the spring. I think it is $87.00 right now. It is a charger and keyboard that fits many devices. I saw it on the Today Show this week.
