I have a bidet installed on my toilet and it helps a lot to rinse off urine. Then dry before applying any kind of cream of ointment. I ordered one on Amazon, they have many. They come with warm water or just cold as it comes out of the tank. I don't mind the cold since I am having lots of hot flashes. Others would want warm water I am sure. Not that expensive as an add on and has worked wonderfully through hip surgery and shoulder surgery also. I use Pur brand ozone infused coconut oil ointment which is very good at reducing itching, burning, etc.

2 Reactions@queenie2030 Hi Queenie2030. Thanks for your input. A bidet would be something for me to consider. I have tried the hand-held bottles that you can rinse after urinating. It's the same that ladies use following giving birth. When I used it, it seemed to traumatize the tissue and it would burn.

1 Reaction@andwho - Oh yes, I also dread urinating. The level of pain can be hard to tolerate. My dermatologist actually suggested surgery so I would pee in a bag and the urine would not have to go through the urethra. The diagnosis the uro/gyno doctor put on my visit sheet was "Lichen planus of vulva." Blessings to you. Let me hear if you find anything that works down the road. Faye

What did they prescribe for your lichen sclerosis & did it help? Any sores with LS?
I’m trying to learn how to live with this but it’s not easy (as we all know)!
Would be nice to not feel LS everyday!

I was diagnosed with LS about 3 years ago. I use prescription Clobetasol about 3 times a week, and it has resolved the symptoms. No sores. I do go back to my GYN once a year for reschecks.
Did your provider give you any advice on how to treat?

2 ReactionsI see a dermatologist who diagnosed me this past November. Have seen her 1x after initial visit. She has me on clobetasol which has helped the itchiness. & inflammation. Still have a sore, blister or lesion whatever you want to call it doesn’t seem to respond to clobetasol. Wonder if there is something else I should use?
She will see me again in 2 weeks!

1 Reaction@roch Thank you for the voice of CALM. With so much suffering it is good to see someone is doing what I'm doing with good results. I have Sjogrens Syndrome also so my gyn kept telling me that was causing my problems. Then I kept going back and she said, These are fissures. However, that was 6 months ago and I've been in remission for 4 months. I also appreciate the reality check that you were diagnosed 3 years ago. I haven't seen any posts relating to symptoms resolved for several years.

Has anyone with lichen sclerosis used clobetasol along with lidocaine for the pain?!
