58 year old 293 calcium score
Hello,
I'm new here. I had a calcium test done last week and it came back with a 293, mostly in my LDA. I am a 58 year old female, vegetarian, exercise daily, all my labs are normal (including CRP, homocysteine, glucose, A1c). I have low cholesterol and low blood pressure. My doc told me not to panic but I'm nervous about the score and wanted to get some advice or thoughts from the folks on this forum. It doesn't make sense to me, so much so, that I'm having the test done again tomorrow. Thanks!

@manofheart I'm certainly learning from folks here what to ask my Cardiologist when I do go in.Very helpful.

You are correct, however, most of us are sharing experiences, results, and things that may
provide some pertinent questions for our PHYSICIANS. 15 to 20 minutes in a doctor’s office,
can sometimes be stressful, and fast paced, this forum provides an antidote for the “WHITE
COAT” stress. Let’s continue to provide this fountain of experiences, understanding the usefulness, and the reality of expertise.

We can describe our symptoms, our diagnosis, and the various procedures, and some of us have done extensive learning and internalized what we have learned, and we share that so people understand what, why, and how. Sometimes just understanding a phenomenon helps to 'situate' it in one's experience, and from there the person might feel they can tackle it more aggressively. None of us who routinely post here tells people to do this and not that. We can at most tell others what worked for us, and why we think it worked. From there, others have to make up their own minds.
Sometimes, people just need a warm hand to hold onto. I myself, a rather secure and Alpha male type all my life, was so very grateful for a nurse in Victoria, BC, whose job it was to explain things to heart patients with arrhythmia and to convince them that they were gonna live, despite all their anxiety. She was an angel, and I told her that in as many words. So, I speak from experience: when one is dismayed, afraid, ignorant about newly diagnosed conditions, and wanting encouragement, these people do a pretty good job...if I say so myself.
