Dr. Doug Lucas Has anyone here paid money to work with Dr. Lucas?

I have been following his Youtube channel, did his free masterclass and have learned a great deal. It is evident that he is highly intelligent, motivated, and ambitious. Today I listened to a 2022 podcast interview with him by a health/fitness professional in the UK (Tony Wingard with whom I am not familiar). I think this was just when the optimal bone health website was getting started. The interview is quite interesting as I learned a lot about Dr. Lucas’s background which I have not managed to find anywhere else. I was surprised to know that he was a professional ballet dancer for 2 years before going on to medical school because of his fascination with the muscular/skeletal systems. He also talks about how he moved from orthopedic surgeon to functional-anti-aging medicine and the influence of his wife who is a registered dietician. After listening to this podcast I do believe his main goal is to heal and teach. I like how he analyzes studies and updates information and recommendations.

I have an appointment with one of his team members in two weeks. I already belong to his Collective at $35 a month. I have been very impressed with his presentations and the fact that he is an MD gives him real credibility, at least with me. The $13,000 annually is truly prohibitive for me and I am certain it is for many people. Such a shame that quality health care comes with an excessive price tag.

@lhankins I will be so interested to see if you remain impressed after meeting with one of Lucas's team members.

I listened to a podcast of him yesterday where he said that insurance covers part of his services. Do you know if the 13k after insurance or before? And do you get him as a doctor when you talk to his team, or just someone in his practice?

I would simply attend one of his Masterclasses and see for yourself. I wrote that many months ago before the services expanded to include some insurance acceptance for clients under 65. The 13k was the total cost of one year with no insurance. I like his approach; although I am not one of his patients I am doing most of what he recommends with my local clinician. Good luck to you in your bone health journey!

I was on Zoom for the Masterclass yesterday and was excited when he was looking at the questions and said there were many about Strontium so let me answer that. In the question was a comment that he endorsed AlgaeCal, which he said he did not, that would mean they pay him. And that is where his answer ended. He did not talk about Strontium at all and then went on about K2 and Dr. Neustadt's approach to using the mega dose of K2 MK4 and why he didn't do that. Unfortunately I didn't get anything out of the class that I didn't already know.

@lhankins Thank you for your reply! I was on his zoom class yesterday and it was pretty much the basics and then information given to join his $500 yearly group forum. IDK if you can even see this doctor privately anymore.

@loplady I was on that call too, and was also disappointed he never circled back to Strontium. To me, it was a call mostly telling us how to join his group forum.

I feel fortunate that I have found a local clinician that will work with me on many of the aspects of his program. I agree, my feeling is you do not have contact with him directly, unless you tag him in a post. I do the DIY version of the program.

I have been following these Drs like Dr Berry, Dr Bright (who does not believe in HRT), Dr Eric Westman & more regarding the keto or carnivore diets. I was left with seizures caused by a brain injury (TBI) after a DV assault 20yrs ago. I have been trying variations of the diets, the Carnivore being the hardest which I am going to may be try again. I have been trying to contact people that did carnivore which stopped seizures, which has been a bit difficult at times. I have read that Dr Lucas is very expensive in starting his plan for osteoporosis, around $13,000 plus he sells his vitamins as well.
