Has anyone here had a loop monitor inserted? Have you found this helpful?

Hello. I'm going in for an ablation next Friday. My Dr's P.A. spoke to me about a loop monitor right after the ablation. Reason being to monitor any changes in heart rate, flutters, arrhythmia etc. And the Dr feels he can then monitor the heart and if all is good might be able to take me off the Eliquis. Anybody have the same situation?

Maddie,

I have not had ablation but I’ve been wearing a loop monitor for a year.
That way the doc knows when my heart goes into afib. I will be 91 in
February of this year. I am not on blood thinner. Technician who
watches the monitor gave me her phone number. Emory. Feel good about
being watched. Nancy Harrison, Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Thanks for the information Nancy. It must be a very good feeling knowing you're being watched. Very much appreciated.

You are so welcome, Maddie. Good luck with your ablation. And loop
monitor. Insertion is almost a non event. Done in doctor’s office in
minutes. Felt no pain. Nancy
