LATE form of dementia
There is an excellent article from the New York Times about the LATE form of dementia. I am wondering if my husband, who has been diagnosed with "mixed" dementia, Alzheimers & perhaps FTD, might have LATE instead. If your loved one has been diagnosed with LATE, can you tell me how it was detected. Here is a "gift" link to the article:

Thank you for sharing the link about LATE dementia. Quite interesting, and something to consider as I move through this with my husband.
Wonderful article. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing this article. It has given me some very useful information. My husband has had the blood test ABETA 42/40 and PTAU evaluation. His results show that his low score is consistent with a low likelihood of a positive amyloid PET scan in someone with cognitive impairment. He has not had a PET scan for his memory problems. I think it might not be necessary now with the results of the blood test. He likely does not have Alzheimer's but rather another form of dementia, possibly the LATE dementia mentioned in the article. This information has pointed me to research all that is out there for Limbic predominate Age related TDP-42 Encephalopathy to see if his symptoms point to that type of dementia. This website and the sharing of information that I find here has been a positive part of our journey.
