Loop Monitor

I had a monitor implanted in May of 2025. As of today, no one can tell me who’s monitoring the readings.
No messages, no correspondence from cardiologist, just a loop monitor abandoned.

I had a loop monitor installed about one year ago. A bedside device transfers data directly to a technician who contacts me if there are abnormalities. Fortunately, like you, I have heard of no abnormalities. I have been billed for this monitoring. You probably will be too.

@seawiz33 I had one implanted a year ago last September. It took months before I started getting copies of the monthly reports that go to the doctor. I think you need to contact the doctor that implanted yours and find out what the plan is for you. I also was given a brochure at the time about the company. I have an app on my phone that sends the monitoring to the company who then in turn would contact the doctor if there was a problem.

I had a loop recorder for many years and loved it. I finally could just know that my cardiologist would contact me if I needed to change course of action otherwise I stopped worrying about whether or not I was in sinus rhythm. My loop recorder had to be taken out during reconstruction of my breasts after a breast cancer diagnosis and bilateral mastectomy. I hope when my breasts are totally finished I will be able to have one inserted again. Don’t hesitate. It is a quick easy procedure and so worth knowing your cardiologist has all the data they need to monitor and revise your arythmia issues. Best of luck to you.

I really appreciate your insight on this issue, and the reality of the parameters is missing in my case. 1 year, no calls, no reports, and no billing. I have made inquiries with my cardiologist, and the device technician, my next move is with a new institution, and physician.

Is it best to try and trust the loop monitor, or to stay on the blood thinner for the Afib plan of care? I have had two episodes of Afib in the past 5 yrs.

The medical profession will not pass over a dollar. No billing in over a year? I am seeing a new
cardiologist next week, I also hate the idea of having a PA treat such a critical issue.
Prescribing medication after medication is a guessing game that I am not willing to take.
My question for my new doctor includes the feasibility of seeing a electro cardiologist, and the
idea of medications for afib vice blood pressure.

@seawiz33 I know that when my husband was in the hospital they were able to monitor his loop recorder. We were told any medical facility could monitor it with their equipment so you should be able to change doctors.

My loop recorder is monitored through an app, myLux by Boston Scientific, on my iPhone.
