Tymlos 6 clicks

Posted by phaddad1966 @phaddad1966, Dec 30, 2025

I’m 59 years old. Started on forteo in August. I was on it for 6 weeks but the body pain was horrible. I took 2 weeks off and then started Tymlos. Started at 2 clicks and have been on 6 clicks for several months now. I do well with it. When I went up past 6, the pain was unbearable. I’m not due for a bone density scan until January 30, but I was wondering if anyone had an increase just doing 6 clicks?

@normahorn I believe it activates the parathyroid.
I have thyroid disease

You are correct but the principle remains the same. Some peoples' parathyroids may be more responsive than others' to Tymlos.

@lightlifts
I mistakenly wrote thyroid rather than Parathyroid. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa.

Thank you for your reply. I’m planning to try five clicks at night starting tonight. I like the idea of not worrying about timing my exercise routine with the injections. Hoping it won’t affect my sleep which isn’t the best to begin with.

@rileyf how does timing of dose impact exercise?

REPLY

I was worried about feeling lightheaded and dizzy so I prefer to inject at night. That way most of the side effects are gone.

Hello, I am 58 and I only take 4 clicks but I started with the 8 clicks last July and could not handle the muscle pain and headaches. I currently take it right when I go to bed and seem to endure side effects better. Best of luck!

Can you explain what you meant when you said you “started at 2 clicks and have been on 6 clicks”? Were you referring to the Tymlos dosage? When I received my pen, it was labeled as 80 mcg, so I’m not sure how the clicks relate to the dose. Do you decide the number of clicks, or does the doctor? I just started Tymlos and have been having some unusual symptoms, so I’m considering asking my doctor if I can begin with a much lower dose. But I dont know how much is the lowest?
