Improve bone density and strength without medication?
Any luck improving bone density and strength without medication? It seems the medications only mildly help ... and they only help some patients; some studies show the slight improvement in density does not mean quality bone was built. I'm not comfortable with moving forward with the treatments just because "that's what we give patients with osteoporosis". There seems to be no room for education or discussion, or research into actual results or other options.

I've read that PEMF therapy does the same as osteoporosis meds without side effects

2 ReactionsGet on your computer and research Algae Cal for bone health. It’s not prescription and it does work to strengthen bones. I am living proof.

Hi Sam, I was responding to the post by tongafish because I am curious too. I looked it up and found this research. I don't really know anything but hope tongafish and others can tell us more.
PEMF s are not FDA approved for osteoporosis yet so probably most doctors will not use it for that purpose.
Looks like it is in clinical trials that will be completed in 2027. In the mean time they are quite expensive to buy for home use and insurance won't cover if not FDA approved.

@tongafish1
Thanks. Oh, it must have been wishful thinking
