@mauraacro

Hi, I'm brand new here and technologically challenged so feel free to point me in the right direction if I've posted in the wrong place or if there is a better place for me to learn about my upcoming surgery.
I will be donating a kidney January 12th. I'm excited and nervous. Is there someone here that has donated or knows someone who has? I know what Mayo has told me to expect but was hoping to hear from a real person. Thank you!

Thanks rosemay

@rosemarya hi,rosemary ,
Just wanted to update you I just returned home last night agter 3 days at mayo in rochester and again I have passed all my tests with flying colors my angiogram and my eight heart catheterization came back no change all good and stable, them same for my echo and ekg, and for the first time in a long time that i can remember my liver enzymes have come backk down to normal so my doctors have given me another clean bill of health and cleared me for another year so i must be doing something right heart. Sometimes i feel like such a fraud for going to rochester to see my team each year and get the same rests but I know that I have to and my doctors are always glad to see me and are always excited by how well I am doing each and every year they always tell me to keep up whatever I am doing as it is working I just ealk all the time take my meds the way I'm supposed to and stick to my low fat no salt which is okay as I can't stand the taste of salt anyway diet and i also do a low carb diet with the no salt low fat so another good year for me from my doctors yay

@glinda,, HOORAY! I am on way out, will get back to you later:-) Rosemary

@glinda, Glinda, My teacher friends call that an A+ report!

I go thru a different series of tests than you, but, I know that the good report is such a big relief. I think that I might have heard your "WooHoo" carried by the wind way down here to central Kentucky;-)
I also think that you and I worked our doctors hard enough before our transplants - so it is okay to go easy on them now!

*Thank you for sharing your 'secret' with all of us: take meds as directed, eat healthy, and keep up the good habits you already have established.

I am glad you are back, and healthy. We look forward to continuing to share and learn with you.
Rosemary

Thanks Rosemary , I was alittle worried there for a few days as my astma was severe and my allergies also before I went to rochester and was worried they wouldnt let me go thru the angiogram and right heart catheterization because of it but they did and am so glad they did thats two less things that I have to worry about and I keep surprising my doctors every year that now they keep asking me what else can they di for me it's vetting to be a standing joke between me and my doctors

@glinda, Do you see the same doctors each year?
When I call to schedule my appointment (which I will be doing in a few weeks) they always ask me if I have a particular request to see a particular doctor. I decline that because I saw so many during my pretransplant care.
Rosemary

My Drs. Are as follows Dr. RODEHEFFER, DR.BOILSON, DR.PERIERA, JEAN WAGNER NP, DR EDWARDS, DR CLAVELL AND DR. FRANTZ, AND DR KUSHWAHA. Those are all my doctors and I usually see one or the other this time I saw jean wagner on tuesday morning and yesterday after my tests were done I went back from St.Marys hospital to charlton the dr.was dr.rodeheffer so I do see them all just not every year

The same dr as they all are a part of my team

@glinda It sounds like you have a great team on your side! Teresa

es I do and they have never given up on me and I keep surprising them as I have been sick a couple of times once in 2012 so bad that I was transferred from eau claire wisconsin where I live to rochester minnesota and they were ready for me to be in serious cindition and i sirprised them with how bright eyed I looked and how everything in the line of tests were going as when I was in hospital in eau claire here at home I had to be given 6 to 8 bags of fluid for extreme dehydration so i do have agreat team they listen to everyrhing I have to say then tell me what they think I am so glad that I have them for my team
