I'm fine with it when someone asks me about wby I wear a mask I would rather they ask me then have them make assumptions like I had had happen and assume I am sick and shod not be out riding the bus which has happened to me also

And I really get a kick out of when young children come up to me and ask me if I'm a nurse or doctor because of my mask and I then explain that no I'm a transplant patient and they ask their mom what that means and the mom explains it to the child I feel like I am teaching the kids about transplantation of organs it makes me feel good for all I had to go thru

I remember one time I saw a man at our local bakery, and he was getting out of a car that had a "Donate Life" decal. Well, I naturally said something, and.....right there on Main Street, he pulls up his t-shirt (You should have seen his wife's face - and mine! I won't forget that) and he proudly shows me his transplant scar!
I must add that the bakery is on the Main Street right next to my church:-)

Glinda, I like that experience a whole lot better than my experience at the bakery! Kids say the cutest things. It is great that the mom handled it so well, too.

His poor wife she must have been so embarrassed by him doing that but a least she can say that he was proud and thankful to have recieved his new organ to live

Yeah i was always worried about scaring the little kids because of the mask and I wouldn't want some man coming up to me and pulling his shirt up to shpw me his transplant scar either
