Anyone treated with Eye90 Radioactive Microspheres for Liver Cancer?

Posted by ewasileski0728 @ewasileski0728, Dec 29, 2025

Has anyone participated in the EYE 90 also known as ABK clinical research study and received radioactive microspheres to destroy the cancer cells in the liver? Was it successful? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as my husband is scheduled for this procedure in January!

Hi. Deeply and profoundly ignorant patient here but if EYE 90 is the same as Y90 their was a chat titled "
When to seek a second opinion" last chatted on 12/13, that may be of interest. My small contribution is below. Best of luck.
Hi I hesitate to chime in as you guys seem to know more than me re Y 90 than me already. But 2 cents from the peanut gallery. I had liver cancer (3 tumors) 2 years ago. My local doctors insisted my only hope was a liver transplant. But it would be a race to get on the list and get one before the cancer spread outside of the liver which would disqualify me. So during the months of going through those hoops I had Y-90 procedures 2 times.
Both events were at a hospital and was there about 8 hrs, went home same day. It was not fun but not terrible.
The 2 doeses were successful as while they did not kill the cancer but they shrunk the tumors greatly. Which did prevent the cancer from spreading until I had a successful transplant in 2024. Don't know if any of this helps but the very best of luck.

@craigcraig my husbands tumor is 2.5 cm and he’s been accepted into the clinical trial research study for I90 and is scheduled for 1/22, do you have any websites to recommend about this procedure and side effects and success rates? Thanks

I do not recall the exact size of my 3 tumors but they were considered small. For me I was told the Y90 would not be curative but hopefully would shrink the tumors and buy me time till a transplant. And that worked. It may be curative for others ? Not sure if these help or not. Wishing your husband the best. Prayers up.

I had Y-90 treatment in July 2025 for a Liver tumor aprox. 2.5cm. By September it was 1.2cm, as most had been killed by the Y-90, .... but another cancer appeared. In December another MRI showed 3 more areas of cancer on my Liver. I am now seeing an Oncologist after my PET Scan was reviewed. More tests to come and will be starting Chemotherapy in January sometime. Each patient goes thru a different process. My symptoms of the Y-90 were being tired, some depression, headaches, mental confusion or brain fog and pain sometimes on lower rt side, back and shoulder. It was difficult to lay in bed for the first month as my right side was very sore. Appetite was low in the beginning and also there was stomach bloating.
Best advice, keep Positive and stay Active as much as you can!! My Interventional Doc advised small meals multiple times of the day. Look at the Mitochondria Diet, which I used. Drink lots of Water. Rest a lot. This helped me. Prayers and best wishes!!

@myo4me @craigcraig @ewasileski0728 Eye90 isn't the same as Y-90 treatment. It is the next development. Eye90 microspheres is a medical device containing yttrium-90 (Y-90), a radioactive material, and provides local radiation brachytherapy for the treatment of liver tumors. You can read more about it here: https://abkbiomedical.com/research/abk-first-time-in-human-study/

@ewasileski0728, is this the clinical trial that your husband is taking part in?

@colleenyoung
Yes this is the clinical trial he has been accepted into and is scheduled for the procedure on 1/22/26. Have you or someone you know participated in this treatment?
