Albuterol and long term side effects

I’ve been diagnosed withMAC and bronchiectasis for 2 years. Not on the big 3. I take 2 puffs of albuterol and nebulize with 7% saline twice a day. I also try to do postural drainage once a day. The past month, I developed negative side effects from the albuterol which I never experienced before, dizziness/vertigo, headaches , increased blood pressure and heaviness in my head like sinus congestion. I had to stop the postural drainage as it caused vertigo. I switched to levalbuterol and was better for a day but the same side effects resumed.
I’m now doing my ACT without the albuterol and wanted to know if this has happened to anyone. Also, can we move mucus effectively without albuterol? I exercise daily so that is helping.
Any advice is appreciated!

@westcottkm3040 That was one of my symptoms as well. For several years, levalbuterol worked fine. But then I began having more asthma symptoms, and my pulmonologist switched me to Symbicort (generic) in an inhaler and all is well.

The Aerobika with a manometer is not available at most medical supply companies. One company that carries it is Tampa Specialty Pharmacy. However, you will need a prescription as they follow FDA requirements.

Hi.

Allied Medical Express in Kansas also carries the Aerobika with manometer.

NJH uses them for their Supplies.

I like them a lot.

Same with me, how is the nebulizing going? It takes me longer to do my ACT and my lungs get irritated initially when using the 7% saline.

My main side effect was getting shaky after use. I took it before running to prevent asthma attacks while running.

I too got very shaky after my albuterol with saline nebulizer treatment. My pulmonologist recommended cutting the albuterol to half dose, and that has worked out very well.

@smbd47 Have you tested to see if the albuterol is needed along with saline? Some people clear just as well without it.

My pulmonologist ordered Albuterol to open my lungs and reduce mucus plugs. The last CT scan showed improvement following this regimen.
