PFO/ASD closure procedure

Posted by gammyb @gammyb, Apr 3, 2024

Has anyone had this procedure using the
Amplatzer™ Talisman™ PFO Occluder? I’m going in on May 8 to Stanford for mine, with a lot of hope. I haven’t had a stroke yet and am doing everything I can to prevent one. Please tell me your results if you’ve had it done.

Hi Francine, here is my story!

I had a massive stroke at 29 y/o in October 2021. They determined that it was caused by a large PFO. I ended up having closure in December 2021 with a 30mm Gore Cardioform Septal Occluder. My PFO was pretty complex as it was mixed with a ASA and ASD. I have not developed A-Fib and I'm 4 years post closure. It was the best decision to get it fixed. 🙂

Good luck!
