Does anyone have chondrosarcoma?
Does anyone have chondrosarcoma? This is my fifth surgery and was told there are seven tumors in my left lung. I have already lost my right lung.

Have you done anything to change your diet since your diagnosis? Would you be open to communicating with my husband as your cases are very surreal and similar in areas of this cancer.
I would be very happy to .
@sherlock999, wow. Your story underlines a number of important things, like how important it is to advocate for your health. You knew something wasn't right. Your story also gives hope!
Did you find that adapting after the amputation you had more use of your hand since the source of constant pain was gone? What is hard? Are you still jumping horses?
My daughter, 24, was diagnosed with synovial chondritis in April 2023. The diagnosis turned into chondrosarcoma in her left knee in April 2024. She had a total knee replacement. It made 2 seedings and the wound turned septic because of poor blood circulation. In January, they had to remove a metastasized tumor from her lung. Her next CT scan is in June. Her cancer is so aggressive! She/us don't get time to adjust...

1 ReactionHi, I just joined the group. I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's state of cancer.
My son (25) has been diagnosed on 23 June 2025 with chondrosarcoma in the left knee. He is due for a total knee replacement and prothesis on 28 June. Since the biopsy 6 months ago the tumor has grown significantly. They wanted to remove it a week ago but after more biopsies they made the decision for the replacement.
Any suggestions to keep the circulation moving?
I visited Mayo in Rochester in 2021 for a work up, and during a lower body mri the radiologist incidentally found something: an atypical cartilaginous tumor measuring 9+ cm in my left distal femur. It had deep endosteal scalloping. An xray at Mayo during same visit noted the same. Did not get to meet with Dr. Rose before leaving, so I followed up with an Ortho. Onc. in Indiana. He declared it an enchondroma and watched it for three years. Never did a biopsy or considered the achiness and numbness I was experiencing. He was also dismissive of my anxiety. Coming back to Mayo 11/18/25 for 2nd op. with Dr. Rose. I’m frightened it may be cancer and I’ll need surgery. Anyone else face this? Tips to calm the anxiety?

2 ReactionsFrom a quick search, it seems that endochondroma rarely turns into actual bone cancer. I'd relax and stick with positive thoughts. Your local doc had the right idea, was probably trying to help you relax, rather than coming across as dismissive. I empathise with you if he didn't make that clear.

1 ReactionOh No, I’m so sorry that this is happening to you. Mine was in my right knee and femur. Luckily I was able to keep my leg but they do XRay scans every 3 months on my lungs for exactly because of your life struggle. I’m eight days away from being a whole year since surgery. Unfortunately, this surgery has caused me nothing but pain which I had none. My cancer was found totally by accident. What’s your story?!

My surgery was in Dec of 24 and was in my right knee and femur. I was able to keep my leg but with the surgery I have pain all the time which I didn’t before the surgery. Now, I have to have XRay scans every 3months to check for the cancer. I’m so sorry for your struggle.
