has anyone had more than 2 flare-ups of psuedomonas in one year. And if so, did the episodes last long.

Since you are experiencing several infections a year, have you asked your Pulmonologist whether you might be a candidate for the new drug "Brinsupri"?

REPLY

Yes, I am on Brinsupri and the results thus far have been fabulous. My nighttime coughing has been 90% better. Getting some energy back to. So gratefulQ

Hi Renee. Sorry I didn't respond sooner, but yes, I had five bouts of pneumonia in 2024 (confirmed with both x-ray and sputum tests), each treated with Levofloxacin; in 2025 I had one bout.

I have both bronchiectasis and a MAC infection and in February 2025 started the Big 3, which has been effective for me. I suspect that, by reducing the MAC infection, my lungs have become less inflamed and better able to resist the Ps. aeruginosa. My pulmonologist wants to wait until I've finished the Big 3 before starting me on Brinsupri. I think he's being over-cautious but I trust his judgment.

Are you being treated for the pneumonia?

REPLY

No, no pneumonia. Just rbonchectasis and chronic pseudomonas of the lungs. I am feeling so much better since being on Brinsupri.. not a cure, but a comfort. I get better sleep at night because coughing doesn’t interrupt with sleep like it had before taking the new drug. My MNacha been gone for over two years, fingers crossed. Good luck in your journey
