@hellopam I tried a pom . .They are over rated. None of them can supply enough oxygen for me . My home consentrator is good . I use 4 ltrs 24/7. I use a tank on a cart to go out . I have no more problems . And yes a person will use more oxygen when moving or walking. Even I , at 4 ltrs, drop to 82 after changing my clothes to go to bed That is the hardest thing on my oxygen . Pulling on clothes& such . It comes back up within a minute and a half. My pulmonologist says if it comes up to 92 in -“1 1/2 min then I am fine. The portable couldn’t do that either . They are advertised with people that either don’t need them. Or they are prescribed less than 3 ltrs. They need advertising rules. They say 2 on pulse is 2 liters . That is not true. Those numbers on the dial are not measuring ltrs .

@crystalena I agree. I find the tank O2 is so much better than even my in home not portable concentrator. What do the numbers on the portable, mine is an Imogene, mean? I have to go to 6 and even then I’m gasping. 4L on tank i’m ok SOB but not gasping. Interesting and yes i also agree those commercials show healthy people and for the meds as well. Are you using the 2 wheel tank cart or a different one? I experience same as you dropping when getting dressed and showering as well.

@mkj7 Mine also was an Imogene. They are just numbers on a dial. Same with me . If you turned it up to 6 it delivers less oxygen , It draws more air from room or outside seems to be ramping up . But it cannot produce more than 3 liters. At 6 you get more outside air sucked in to it . It thins the 3 liters it does produce . These things are a joke . I have a two wheel cart. Actually 2 of those . I set the spare up in my car so easy swap . I also have a two wheel cart that holds 2 tanks . Nice for flea markets if I am going to be shopping for over 2 hours , and it’s a ways from my car . Those people selling the Pom should be curbed and regulated . Scammers !!! Blessed Be , Crystalina

@crystalena I agree with you! A 2 on pulse is barely a 1. When I go out with my POC, I turn it to 3. Still not really comfortable bc it uses up the battery faster. Then I wonder why I don't like going out much anymore!

@hellopam - Sorry to hear that you are going thru the same things I did . I tried to use one and I tried too long . I think it did do me harm, the pulmonologist talked to me about it . He said it is very important to not let oxygen level go below 88. Even when I shower and change clothes , I could turn my concentrator up to 5 or 6 ltrs briefly. My consentrator only goes to 5. Even though I can get my oxygen back up to at least 92 in 1 1/2 minutes . He says every moment below 88 harms my body and brain . He said those minutes all add up . So , even though I still drop to 82 or so . I make sure I get all of the oxygen I need to walk, shop, or just go out .for a bit . If the Pom doesn’t let you move around , and keep your oxy up , then it is harming you . I am said to have stage 4 and I do use 4 liters . Since I put the Pom down and got my tanks, I do so much better . I don’t get sob . I have a rack of 24 tanks. Apria comes by once a month and swaps the empty ones . I will probably use less . It is the beginning of the snow season here . I don’t go out much in the freezing weather . I live out in the woods. It is beautiful to look at , but too cold for this old crone . 💜💜Blessed Be, Crystalina

I use a Rove 4 when I work-out and if on the treadmill will have to sometimes push it to 4 liters walking at 1.8 but maintaining 94% but its not comfortable. Interesting though when weight lifting and doing the proper breathing I can maintain a 96% with 5-8 lbs. As long as I maintain a good breath in before exertion. I typically just use the oximeter to make sure stay in the range that I want. I don't much care for the pulse action of the POV's but its easier for me to manage than the tanks.

Try to obtain a good, reliable Oximeter, like the ones on ebay by Nonin for under $30. Check your O2 saturations while walking and ask your provider what range he'd like your saturation rate to be in. Most providers want low to mid 90s. My providers want me to turn the O2 up if I can’t maintain low to mid 90s while walking. It allows me to exercise longer and build muscle, which uses O2 more efficiently.

@hicopd my doctor tells me when I’m walking crank it up if it helps, if if I go shopping and gotta park far back he said crank it up and I can turn it down once I’m in the store

Yes, that happens to me all the time. I have to turn my oxygen up on my POV and it’s still really not enough.

@romoney1 I thought vaping was worse than smoking a cigarette!

I thought vaping with Mullen would be a natural drug. Anyone else tried it.
