Tymlos causing belly fat?
I’m on Tymlos for about 2 1/2 months now. I’m not usually concerned about my weight. I stay pretty stable. I’ve noticed that my belly seems to be getting fatter. Has anyone experienced this belly fat situation from Tymlos? Is there anything I can do about it? Why is it happening? Thanks for any input.

I noticed that you did not say that you would consider that a small that a small price to pay if it happened to you. I thought we were supposed to express our personal experiences and not be dismissive of the concerns of others.

@gravity3 I agree. Just depressing after losing 25 lbs and now my belly is bigger than ever. BUT, I am so tired of breaking bones.

2 ReactionsHas anyone seen a good explanation for why Tymlos can cause belly fat? There must be some process involved to cause this. Is that process beneficial or not?

2 ReactionsGaining between ten and fifteen pounds especially Belly fat is VERY common. It’s all over Facebook groups and Tymlos forums. So common in fact that scientific communities are acknowledging overwhelming anecdotal evidence of weight gain and belly fat.

I am on Reclast and now have an enormous belly! My doctor insists it’s not the bone medication but this thread makes me think it could be, even though i’m on a different one. What do you think?
@kaa1 Id like to know too. I was finally ready to start Tymlos, then I see this. I work out, do core for strength and to reduce back stiffness, so to know this is a potential side effect is so discouraging.
If it is something that will resolve, the drug company needs to reassure us of that.
If there are things we can do to mitigate side effects, they have an obligation to do that too.
