Anyone else have multiple autoimmune diseases?
I have Addisons, Hypothyroidism, Sarcoidosis, Myasthenia Gravis and Dermatomyositis. Also, Kidney disease 3a, and liver disease. Good news is……I don’t seem to have the worst. Are scenario of any of them. My biggest problem is the lungs. I still golf some and the breathing sometimes interferes. Overall, I consider myself lucky that I’m still here……because I’ve had some close calls.

@sarahmariem These diseases are very difficult and quality of life is deeply affected . No real solid answers. The cures are very difficult to take. I have watched my daughter (58) struggle starting at 5 with graves. Her first of many She lives with me now Jt would be hard for her to be alone but her children spend a lot of time helping her .

consentix is a cloned human B cell antibody (monoclonal antibody) called a bilogic It binds to IL 17A preventing its attachment to IL 17 A's receptor. It is useful in PA, RA SLE, ALS.

I'm sorry to hear you are living with Long COVID. Another virus, Epstein-Barr, changed my life for good. I have had PTSD twice in life, as a child and because of an earthquake where I had a near death experience and was out of my body for a split second looking down at the destruction of my home. Within weeks of that I became ill and it was the onset of Sjogrens, RA, Hashimoto's thyroiditis and also cancer. There is the story of stress and trauma in my background. I thought it would be a matter of healing psychologically. Instead I was introduced to living with chronic disabling illness ever after.

1 Reactionjudyresnick, the drug I'm taking is Forteo for osteoporosis. It isn't an antibody, but it's grown in e coli. It has been a wonderful drug for me, just luck.

1 Reaction@jw9 I am so sorry to hear that. I understand trauma. When I got sick with Long COVID, one of the things that did show up on my labs was the reactivation of Epstein-Barr. I believe there is a definite correlation between Trauma, EBV and the autoimmune diseases, and wish that I was a scientist and could study that. I am in social work, so I asked this question on the Long COVID Mayo page as well. I have to get ready but will elaborate further later. Thank you for your reply. You are obviously a resilient person. I hope today goes good for all who read this.
