I am taking blood thinners after having a pulmonary embolism after total knee surgery. At the same time I went into Afib.. They found an ascending aortic aneurysm 3.5cm when doing a chest CT scan. I am not sure if I should continue taking the blood thinner? Any opinions?

@ggj2 I would love to get off of Eliquis, especially since the recent minor surgery ended me up in the hospital with severe blood loss. That being said, I fear of having a stroke out, weighed whatever doubts I had about being on the Eliquis there’s no coming back from the stroke

@ggj2 I have a similar situation with an ascending aortic aneurysm and paroxysmal A Fib, now on Eliquis. It is important to reduce stroke risk with the blood thinner. Control your BP with appropriate meds and that will keep the aneurysm from increasing in size.
